Now, I am a grown-up

The other night, I dreamed gas was $2.03 a gallon.

Oh what bliss it was.

It's not cheesy if it's true

In seven days, one of my truest friends will be leaving for the summer. She'll be in Ethiopia doing the bidding of her Savior and I am so happy for her.

She's the one going to a third world country, and I'm the one doing all the crying.

I have yet to see her shed a tear during all of this. But don't worry, I'm shedding enough for us both.
Katie I remember you telling me late at night many months ago that you wanted to do this. My prayers have been offered up for you since then.
I'm so thankful that God that will be watching over us both, and will also fill our lonely hearts these 3 months.

I Wondered Lonely as a Cloud

Katie beat me to a daffodils post ( if I knew how to share a link, there would be one to Katie's blog here.)
Daffodils, or buttercups, are probably my favorite flower. How can one not love bright yellow flowers popping up reminding us that there are other colors in nature besides gray?

This is one of my favorites by Wordsworth  on the subject:

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

She knows me too well

As I'm getting into my car.....

Mom: Don't get lost. Call me if you do.

At 4, he already knows how to un-friend.

Yes, I do realize that the majority of my posts are about children. But please forgive me. I just can't help it. They say and do the funniest things. Seriously.

Let me tell you about one of my many funny kids I babysit.
His name is Jackson. He has the longest hair on a little boy ever. He has a brush that he uses on himself, and submits to it being put in a ponytail. He's 4 years old and just started using complete sentences this year. Before that he used one word: tractor. Tractors were his purpose it life. Around 3 he started changing it up a little.
"Jule? (his name for me) Tractor? Drive? Tractor? "
He stuck to the basics. I like that about him.
Anyway, I had the privilege of babysitting him yesterday. As soon as I walked in he said, "Jule! You're my best friend!" I was touched. This kid made me day.

Until he found his toy elf.
 "Oh! He's my best friend!"

and I showed him an old snail shell.
"Aww...that's my best friend"

My bubble was a little on the popped side after that. But I still love him, he's just not as high on my best friends list as he was.

Appyha Irthdayba!! (happy birthday in pig latin....I think)

This is to a friend who I love very much.

I love her because she laughs at my corny jokes.

Because she eats off the dollar menu with me.

Because she thinks everything is awkward.

That friend is Eleanor. And yesterday was her birthday.

Happy Birthday to a God-sent friend. I love you much.

P.S. I'm sorry this is late, but maybe you'll forgive me since you're in the mountains of smoke.
